Use short expressions and a reliable audio model to practise French pronunciation. A word’s spelling alone does not always reveal how it sounds. Begin by aiming for understandable speech and careful listening, rather than a perfect imitation of one speaker.
Start with Bonjour, Merci beaucoup and Comment allez-vous ? Listen to each complete expression before repeating it. Practise difficult sections separately before trying to speak faster.
Follow the written expression while listening. Some written letters are not pronounced in every context. Instead of turning one example into a universal rule, check how each word sounds within its expression.
Compare a recording of your voice with the model. Focus on one feature, such as a pause or a vowel sound. Trying to correct everything at once makes the purpose of your practice less clear.
Practise a greeting, thanks and a request for repetition: Bonjour. Merci beaucoup. Vous pouvez répéter, s’il vous plaît ? Build a short conversation and record it again after a few practice sessions.
